Phenix City Elementary School ā Over 350 Future Bee Fans Reached!
Foundation Honey Co. had the awesome opportunity to be part of Career Day at Phenix City Elementary School. We spent the day with more than 350 studentsāfrom kindergarten all the way to 5th gradeāteaching them about bees, beekeeping, and why pollinators are so important to our world.
We kicked things off by showing the kids how a bee smoker works. They got to feel the soft smoke as it puffed out, and we explained how it helps keep bees calm when beekeepers are working with the hive. It was fun watching their faces light up as they took turns feeling the gentle smoke!
Next, we dove into the hive frames and talked about how bees store honey to survive the winter. The students spotted real honey in the wax cells and asked smart questions about worker bees, queen bees, and how the hive works as a team. One student even pointed out that some bees always stay with the queenāand they were right!
At Foundation Honey Co., we believe education is one of the best ways to make change. By teaching kids early, weāre planting seeds for a better, more sustainable future. Moments like Career Day are why we do what we do.
To every curious kid who joined usāyou made our day! Keep asking questions, exploring nature, and protecting the bees. šš
