At Foundation Honey Co, we believe beekeeping is more than a hobby—it’s a way to build stronger communities and help the environment. Our organization is veteran-owned and works to teach people in Columbus and beyond how to take care of bees while building important life skills. We’re also proud to be a 501(c)3 nonprofit, which means we’re focused on giving back and making a difference.
Bees play a huge role in our world. They help pollinate plants, which means they help grow the food we eat. In fact, bees help pollinate about one-third of the food we need. Without them, many fruits, vegetables, and nuts wouldn’t grow as easily. That’s why it’s so important to protect them.
At Foundation Honey Co, we teach our community about how important bees are to our environment. Our classes and programs are designed to help people understand how to protect bees and learn how to care for them in a way that’s easy and fun.
One of the best things about beekeeping is that it teaches you patience and problem-solving. Whether you’re a veteran or someone just looking to learn something new, beekeeping can help you grow these skills. Our hands-on programs show you how to care for bees while learning how to build your own beekeeping setup.
We also offer special programs like “Women in Leadership – Attributes of a Queen” and “Men in Leadership – The Drone Effect” that not only teach beekeeping but also build important leadership skills.
Many veterans find beekeeping to be a perfect way to adjust to civilian life. The care and attention it takes to manage a hive feel familiar and rewarding. Through beekeeping, veterans can reconnect with nature and their communities, while also building new businesses and skills.
We’re proud to be members of the Farmer Veteran Coalition, an organization that supports veterans in agriculture. Our programs help veterans learn beekeeping, start small businesses, and build lasting connections.
At Foundation Honey Co, we’re passionate about teaching people how to care for the environment. Through beekeeping classes, participants learn about the importance of sustainability—meaning, taking care of the earth so that future generations can enjoy it, too. Beekeeping is a great way to learn how nature works and how everything is connected.
By joining our programs, people walk away with hands-on skills and a greater understanding of how to help their communities and the environment.
If you’re interested in learning about beekeeping or how you can learn valuable community skills through bees, we welcome you to join us at Foundation Honey Co. Together, we can help protect bees and build a resilient, more sustainable future.
