The Change to Organic Beekeeping

In our first year of beekeeping, realized that as disabled veterans, commercial beekeeping methods using chemicals and vertical stacked hives was not sustainable and it did not speak to our core values of respecting nature. After extensive research, we made the decision to manage an organic bee farm.
This month, we added a pathway to the front acre of the farm and sprinklers in preparation for planting of pollination plants in organic soil. We also purchased our first Layens (horizontal) hive, and a swarm trap.
